How can you become an actress if you live in Regina Saskatchewan Canada?

I have always wanted to be an actress and I think I’m ok at it but I live in Canada and I can’ really go to Hollywood or anything. Any suggestions?

The first thing you need is experience. If you are still in school, audition for school plays and join the drama club. You should also try out for local community theatre shows. Take as many acting classes as possible. Read some books on acting (those by Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, Kristen Linklater and Jack Poggi are great). Be sure to get the support of your friends and family, they can help you a lot.
If you feel you are ready, look up auditions on http://www.actorsaccess.com/index.cfm?fl…

All three websites are reputable, legitimate and free. You generally need a head shot and resume (this website has great information on creating a resume http://www.bestsampleresume.com/acting-r… When you have enough experience you should begin to look for an agent. Look up agents on the SAG website.

Of the hundreds of thousands of young people across North America trying to become professional actors, only a few hundred will make it — and most of them will have to work as waiters or retail clerks in order to pay their rent and buy food. It’s an interesting dream, but it’s also a miserable life. There is no money in it; no money at all. By that, I mean there are not even starvation wages to be made. Think twice about it.

If you are still interested in pursuing this, then check out the summer and part-time drama classes at Regina’s Globe Theatre and also check out the drama/theatre program at the U of R.

The fact that you did not mention these rather obvious programs tells me that you have not checked them out already and that you are not very serious about this. Sorry to be so blunt.
